Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Materials Analysis Engineer to join our R&D laboratory team to support various products reaching EOL. This role focuses on the systematic teardown and analysis of electronics and battery systems to determine material composition and properties. This is a great opportunity to gain experience Key Responsibilities: Perform careful disassembly of electronic devices and battery systems following strict safety protocols Conduct materials composition analysis using spectroscopic and microscopic techniques Document and maintain detailed records of teardown procedures and findings Create and maintain bills of materials (BOM) for analyzed systems Support R&D initiatives through systematic investigation of material properties Contribute to laboratory capability development and process improvements Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or related field 3+ years hands-on experience in electronics disassembly or materials analysis Strong understanding of chemical composition and material properties Demonstrated experience with laboratory safety protocols and procedures Experience with analytical instruments (spectroscopy, microscopy) Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications: Experience with robotics systems Knowledge of battery technologies and electronics Laboratory equipment maintenance experience Previous experience in R&D environment Strong safety mindset and commitment to laboratory protocols Natural curiosity and problem-solving orientation Excellent manual dexterity and precision in handling components Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
